Snowshoe Racing

Snowshoe Racing is a highly successful new program that began in 2009 at MCC.  We are one of a handful of schools in the USA that offer competitive Snowshoe Racing as part of their sports program.

We follow the same format as the Cross Country program.  Our numbers of participating students is in the upper 30s, including a number of home school students.

Our training area is at the Menominee Water Tower Park.  Prior to this the students would run to prepare themselves for racing on snowshoes.  Students don't need to have their own snowshoes as the team has a number of them for students to borrow.

We begin training in December by running.  Usually after the Christmas break is when we participate in races.  Last year at the Badger State Games and the Gladstone Snowshoe Shuffle out students earned a number of medals

The season usually ends by mid March.  So if you're interested in trying something new, check snowshoeing out.
